Be a Lean, Green, Vegan Machine

Be a Lean, Green, Vegan Machine

(and help make our home planet just a little better place to live)

There any number of great reasons to go vegan right now. Just a few off the top of our list include-

  • It’s Healthier for your Body (unless you’re looking forward to obesity, heart disease, and all the other fun side dishes)
  • It’s Easier on your Mind (and your dog will definitely like you more)
  • The Meat Industry is a Horror Show (seriously…you don’t want to go there)

But today we thought we’d discuss one of the most valid reasons, and arguably the greatest- The vegan lifestyle is sustainable.                                                                                                                          And if you don’t yet know or care enough about the concept of sustainability then all you need to do is look around- anywhere on the planet- to realize...WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF EVERYTHING (except perhaps droughts, hurricanes, earthquakes and poisonous lead in our drinking water)!

Living a sustainable vegan lifestyle simply translates into being a small part of the solution, rather than a daily part of the problem.                                                                                                                                 The fossil fuel that it takes to create one single package of mystery Frankenstein meat that appears on our grills for that summer BBQ requires such a massive drain on every conceivable natural resource- through the long, laborious chain of production, processing, inspection, transportation and eventually to the leaky little package we pick up at our supermarkets- coupled to such a Domino chain reaction of collateral environmental damage that we would have to multiply that sticker price we pay by a factor of 10-20 to even approach the real cost of what we’re buying.  This price includes the severe drain on one of the most precious, and most limited, natural resources- our finite supply of fresh water.

But of course this price excludes the accompanying costs of all the ongoing, increasing, lifetime of health care costs, including childhood obesity, diabetes, heart disease and various cancers, that comes along with all the wonderful byproducts they pump our cheap meat diets with so that we can afford even more.

So why not go vegan and eat less instead!                                                                                                                           But much more sustainably.
